 FSC
The Forest Stewardship Council enables you to buy forest products of all kinds with confidence that you are not contributing to global forest destruction.  FSC certified forests are managed to ensure long term timber supplies while protecting the environment and the lives of forest-dependent peoples.  A system of Chain of Custody certification traces forest products through the supply chain to the end-consumer.  Whenever you buy timber or timber products, always look for the FSC logo.

 PEFC
The PEFC Council (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes) is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organisation, founded in 1999, which promotes sustainably managed forests through independent third party certification.  The PEFC provides an assurance mechanism to purchasers of wood and paper products that they are promoting the sustainable management of forests.

 TRADA
The Timber Research and Development Association (TRADA), is an internationally recognised centre of excellence on the specification and use of timber and wood products.  Their aim is to provide members with the highest quality information on timber and wood products to enable them to maximise the benefits that timber can provide.

 TTBS
The Timber Trades' Benevolent Society aims are to help those in reduced circumstances who have been employed in the UK by a qualifying business for at least 10 years.  Qualifying businesses include timber merchants, timber importers, timber exporters and agents.

 TTF
The Timber Trade Federation represents the interests of the wood and wood products industry to a diverse range of stakeholders, from the UK Government and EU to specifiers and consumers of wood.  Members benefit from the TTF's expertise in all aspects of timber - from best environmental practice to technical standards.

 Wood For Good
Wood for Good is a generic wood campaign, which started in 2000.  It is now the largest promotional campaign ever undertaken in the UK.
