FR MDF is an MDF Panel developed specifically for those situations where fire enhanced performance is required under building regulations.  Our range of FR MDF panels complies with reaction for fire Class B or C as per EN3501 and is CE marked for non structural use under attestation system 1. It guarantees our customers that initial inspection, continuous surveillance and evaluation of factory production control are supervised by external third party.

Our stock item is low-density MDF board with a hard, fine and smoothly sanded surface.

High density board or moisture resistant panels are available on request.

We can also offer an FR MDF caring Wheelmark certification. It holds the EC Quality system, confirming that producer maintains and applies a quality system in accordance with the requirements of the Maritime Equipment Directive Annex B, Module D.

FR MDF is coloured red during production for ease of recognition. The intensiveness of the red colour might vary between different production batches and thicknesses. It’s important you check the identification and suitability of the product before processing.

FR classification is valid for a very specific end use conditions applicable to product and individual brand. Please contact our FR Product Champion for end use conditions, CE1, DoP and FR classification report.

The description of the FR product and the field of application given in the classification report should always be compared with the specification of the timber components to be used in any particular project, to ensure that the classification in the report can be taken to apply to the timber products to be used in the project.

Our FR MDF range has low emission formaldehyde rate (E1 class); in addition Medite brand is CARB compliant. Upon request all boards are supplied fully certified.
